Week 44 Market Outlook: Five Central Banks, U.S. GDP, and Big Tech Take the Spotlight
Week 44 brings five major central-bank decisions, U.S. GDP, core PCE inflation, Australian CPI, elevated oil prices, and major technology earnings. Preview the key themes before accessing GME VIP’s complete exclusive weekly forecast.
Week of October 18–24, 2026
We are now entering Week 44 of the 2026 trading year, and this is one of the most important October trading weeks on the calendar.
This week brings decisions from five major central banks—the RBNZ, Bank of Canada, Federal Reserve, European Central Bank, and Bank of Japan—alongside U.S. GDP, core PCE inflation, Australian inflation, major technology earnings, and continued pressure from elevated oil prices.
With so many catalysts arriving within only a few days, the challenge is not simply identifying what is scheduled. The bigger task is understanding which developments genuinely change expectations for interest rates, inflation, economic growth, and risk—and which moves are only temporary reactions.
The Federal Reserve will be one of the biggest focal points, but the week extends far beyond the Fed. Oil remains elevated amid geopolitical uncertainty, global inflation data can reshape individual currency stories, and major technology earnings may influence broader risk sentiment after another volatile stretch for AI-related shares.
For this reason, Week 44 is not a week to chase every headline or first candle.
It is a week to stay patient, compare the reaction across currencies, yields, commodities, and equities, and wait for the market to confirm whether the underlying story has actually changed.

Keep the Context in Mind as You Review
One of the most important habits we continue building inside VIP is learning how to review an analysis within the context in which it was originally made. The charts, observations, scenarios, price levels, and market expectations included in the recap reflect what was happening at or around the time of the live session.
The market, however, continues to move after every class. By the time you revisit this material, prices may have changed, new economic information may have been released, expectations may have shifted, or the market may have responded differently from one of the possibilities we originally discussed. That does not make the earlier discussion less useful. In fact, comparing what we anticipated with what eventually happened is an important part of the learning process.
As you review each section, compare the charts and scenarios discussed during the session with the market’s current movement. Consider what has changed since the session, which observations remain relevant, which scenarios the market confirmed or invalidated, whether new information changed the broader context, and how price reacted around the areas we previously discussed.
This allows you to use the recap not simply as a record of what was discussed, but as an opportunity to strengthen the way you analyze how markets develop over time.
Before Applying Anything From the Session
Please remember to independently verify the information before using any part of the session recap in your current market analysis. Double-check all dates and times, especially economic releases, central-bank announcements, and scheduled market events. Confirm the currency pairs and instruments being discussed, review the latest economic calendar for revisions or changes, and compare the charts shown in the recap with the current charts before deciding whether a level or scenario is still relevant.
Also check for any new economic data, geopolitical developments, central-bank commentary, or market-moving information that may have emerged since the session. Reassess the broader market context instead of assuming that an earlier expectation remains valid, and continue applying the risk-management principles, technical lessons, and market-reading process we have discussed throughout our previous VIP sessions.
The purpose of reviewing these materials is not to follow an earlier analysis automatically. It is to understand the reasoning behind the analysis, observe how the market developed afterward, and continue improving the way you prepare for different possibilities.
Markets change. Expectations change. Charts change. What we want to keep strengthening is how we analyze, prepare, and respond when they do.
Continue Building on What We Have Learned
Thank you again to everyone who joined our first VIP live session for September 2026. Your attentiveness, questions, and participation made the discussion even more meaningful, and I hope you continue using these session recaps as part of your ongoing review process.
Go back to the lessons from our previous sessions. Compare what we discussed with what actually happened afterward. Observe how new information changed—or reinforced—the market narrative. Whenever you review a previous chart or scenario, remember that the objective is not simply to determine whether an earlier view was “right” or “wrong.”
The greater value is understanding why the market behaved the way it did, what information changed along the way, and how we can become better prepared the next time a similar environment develops.
That is the process we will continue building together inside GME VIP. We look forward to continuing the discussion with you in our next VIP Class. 🧡

Week 43 Market Outlook: Oil Above $100, AI Earnings, and a Silent Fed
Week 43 brings a different kind of market environment. With the Federal Reserve already in its quiet period, attention shifts toward oil above $100, Treasury yields, global inflation, technology earnings, and business activity data. Here is the GME VIP fundamental roadmap for another important October trading week.
Week of October 18–24, 2026
We are now moving through Week 43 of the 2026 trading year and another important October trading week. While we did not hold a live VIP session this week, that does not mean we enter the market without a roadmap. If anything, this week calls for even more discipline because some of the strongest market drivers are not neatly scheduled on an economic calendar.
The Federal Reserve is already in its quiet period ahead of the October 27–28 policy meeting. That means Fed officials will not be constantly explaining, confirming, or correcting the market’s interpretation of incoming developments. Instead, markets may have to take more of their direction from Treasury yields, oil prices, overseas inflation, business activity data, corporate earnings, and broader risk sentiment.
Two major stories carried into the week.
The first is oil. Crude prices finished last week firmly above $100 as concerns around shipping routes and Middle Eastern energy infrastructure continued to keep physical supply risks at the center of the market. Those concerns have remained important this week, with Brent moving above $110 and U.S. crude remaining above $100 as markets continue assessing potential disruptions to actual oil flows.
The second is the recent pressure on AI and semiconductor stocks. Coming into the week, the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index had fallen for eight consecutive sessions as investors questioned the cost of AI infrastructure, borrowing conditions, and whether current expectations could continue to justify valuations. Monday finally brought a rebound, but that does not automatically mean the broader concern has disappeared. With major technology earnings approaching, the market will now have an opportunity to test whether that relief can develop into something more sustainable.
That combination makes this a week where our preparation has to go beyond simply marking release times on the calendar.
For the U.S. dollar and gold, the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield remains an important part of the story. With the Fed temporarily silent, changes in yields can help show how the bond market itself is interpreting inflation, growth, oil prices, and expectations for what the Fed may eventually do.
For oil, the distinction between headlines and actual physical supply remains especially important. Promises of future relief or negotiations may influence sentiment, but markets are likely to pay close attention to whether shipping routes, production facilities, and energy flows are actually being disrupted.
For broader risk sentiment, technology earnings now become another major test. After the sharp pressure seen across AI-related and semiconductor names, company results and forward guidance could help determine whether investors regain some willingness to take risk—or whether concerns around valuations, borrowing costs, and AI spending continue to weigh on equities.
And for currencies outside the United States, this week gives us several opportunities to focus on relative economic strength while the Fed remains quiet. Canada has already opened the week’s inflation picture, with September annual CPI rising to 3.1%. Inflation developments from other major economies, together with Friday’s global business-activity surveys, may give individual currencies their own catalysts rather than leaving everything dependent on the U.S. dollar.
This is exactly the type of market environment where we should avoid forcing one story across every currency pair.
Different economies are facing different combinations of inflation, growth, interest-rate expectations, energy exposure, and political risk. That means one currency may strengthen for reasons that have very little to do with another.
So even without a webinar this week, consider this VIP Weekly Market Forecast your fundamental map for Week 43. Use it alongside your technical levels and the lessons we have developed throughout our previous sessions. Know which catalysts support your current view, but just as importantly, know which developments could invalidate it.
The objective remains the same: we are not trying to predict every market movement before it happens. We are identifying the forces currently shaping the market, preparing for several reasonable outcomes, and allowing the market to provide confirmation before we act.
Let confirmation—not excitement—determine when you participate.
Before we move into this week’s key economic indicators, currency outlooks, market scenarios, and events to watch, let’s first revisit what happened last week and what those developments may be telling us about the market environment we are carrying forward.

Week 42 Market Outlook: U.S. Inflation, Retail Sales, and the Fed Take Center Stage
Week 42 puts U.S. inflation at the center of the market calendar, followed by producer prices, retail sales, and another important Federal Reserve appearance. This week, GME VIP also introduces a new step to the weekly process: reviewing the previous forecast against what actually happened before mapping the scenarios ahead.
Week of October 12–17, 2026
We are now moving into Week 42 of the 2026 trading year and another important October trading week. While we did not hold a live VIP session this week, that does not mean we enter the market without a roadmap. If anything, this is one of those weeks where preparation becomes even more important because the calendar is packed with events capable of producing very different market reactions depending on what the details actually reveal.
The biggest focus is undoubtedly U.S. inflation. Wednesday brings the Consumer Price Index, followed on Thursday by producer inflation and U.S. retail sales. Later in the week, Fed Chair Kevin Warsh also has an important opportunity to speak before the Federal Reserve moves closer to its quiet period ahead of the October 27–28 policy meeting.
Our reference outlook places Wednesday’s CPI at the center of this week’s market story. But the inflation number itself may only be part of what matters. The reaction in the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield could provide another important clue as to whether the market’s initial response has enough support to continue or whether the first move begins to reverse.
What makes this particularly interesting is that the inflation report could potentially tell us two different stories at the same time. Headline inflation may remain under pressure from higher energy costs, while underlying or “core” inflation may paint a comparatively calmer picture. If those two readings send conflicting messages, the market may have to decide which part of the report matters more for the Federal Reserve and the broader interest-rate outlook.
That is exactly the type of environment where the first reaction does not necessarily become the final direction.
Rather than reacting immediately to the headline number, this week gives us another opportunity to apply what we have been developing throughout our VIP sessions: understand the context first, observe how the broader market responds, and allow confirmation—not excitement—to guide the next step.
A New Step in Our Weekly Review Process
Starting with this week’s forecast, we are also adding something important to our weekly process.
Before looking ahead, we will briefly review how the previous week’s outlook performed against what actually happened in the market.
This is not about taking a victory lap when a scenario works, nor is it about expecting every outlook to be correct. Markets are constantly responding to new information, changing expectations, and developments that cannot always be anticipated beforehand.
Instead, the purpose is to make our weekly forecasts more useful as an ongoing learning tool.
We want to look back and ask: Which expectations were supported by the market? Which scenarios did not develop as anticipated? What changed during the week? Was there new information that altered the original outlook? And, most importantly, what can we carry forward into the next analysis?
By reviewing both the forecast and the outcome, we can continuously refine the way we interpret market information and prepare for future conditions.
Your Fundamental Map for Week 42
Even without a live webinar this week, consider this VIP Weekly Market Forecast your fundamental map for the days ahead.
Use it together with the technical analysis, market structure, levels, risk-management principles, and lessons we have covered throughout our previous VIP sessions. Identify which currencies currently have the clearest underlying stories, but also know which upcoming events have the potential to challenge or invalidate your existing view.
This week, in particular, requires patience.
A major economic release can produce an immediate market reaction, but the initial move does not always tell the complete story. How Treasury yields respond, how the U.S. dollar behaves afterward, and how related markets absorb the new information may help provide a clearer picture once the initial volatility settles.
The objective is not to predict every movement before it happens. It is to understand the environment, recognize the events capable of changing the market narrative, and prepare for several reasonable possibilities before the market makes its decision.
Allow confirmation—not excitement—to determine when and how you participate.
Before we map out this week’s key economic indicators, central-bank developments, currency outlooks, and market scenarios, let’s begin with something new: a brief review of last week’s forecast and what the market ultimately taught us.

Week 41 Market Outlook: Relative Strength Takes Center Stage
Week 41 opens with several competing market forces in play, from slowing U.S. employment and elevated energy prices to European fiscal concerns and shifting central-bank expectations. With no VIP live session this week, this forecast serves as your fundamental roadmap for identifying relative currency strength, key risks, and the major developments that could shape the market ahead.
Week of October 04–10, 2026
We are now entering Week 41 of the 2026 trading year and the first full trading week of October. While we did not hold a VIP live session this week, that does not mean we move into the market without a roadmap. If anything, this is the kind of environment where preparation becomes even more important.
Unlike weeks that revolve around one dominant economic release, the current market backdrop is being shaped by several forces at the same time. High global interest rates, signs of slowing U.S. employment, elevated energy prices, European fiscal concerns, and shifting central-bank expectations are all influencing currencies differently. This creates a market where understanding the relative strength and weakness of each currency may matter more than looking for one broad direction across everything.
Because the trading week is already underway, we also have the benefit of seeing some of the first signals from Monday’s economic data. U.S. services activity remained firmly in expansion, although the ISM Services PMI eased to 54.9 from 55.4 and came in slightly below the 55.1 forecast. The Eurozone services picture was more mixed, while New Zealand’s quarterly business-confidence reading rose sharply to 43 from 8.
These early developments suggest that this week may be less about a synchronized global market move and more about relative economic strength between currencies. Some economies may continue to show resilience while others face softer data, fiscal pressures, or changing expectations around interest rates. That difference in economic momentum is where several of this week’s more important market stories may begin to develop.
So even without our usual live discussion, consider this VIP Weekly Market Forecast your fundamental map for the week ahead. Use it alongside the technical levels and set-ups we have been monitoring, identify the currencies with the clearest underlying stories, and—most importantly—know which upcoming economic releases or developments could strengthen, weaken, or completely invalidate the scenario you are considering.
The objective is not to predict every move before it happens. It is to understand the environment we are trading in, recognize the forces currently influencing the market, and prepare for the different possibilities before price makes its next decision.
Before we map out the key economic indicators, central-bank signals, and market developments ahead, let’s first revisit what brought us here and the major themes shaping the market as we begin this new trading week.
